About Me
I am Navdeep Singh, a science graduate and a cactus enthusiast from Jalandhar, Punjab. What began as a simple interest in the fascinating flowers of exotic cacti during my leisure time has gradually grown into a lifelong passion for exploring, growing, and understanding these remarkable plants.
My journey began around 2010, when I started growing common varieties such as Opuntia, Cereus, and Euphorbia in my garden. As my curiosity grew, so did my collection. Today, my garden, PASSION GARDEN, is home to more than 3,000 plants representing over 500 species and subspecies of cacti and succulents.
For me, every plant has something unique to offer. From unusual shapes and spines to spectacular flowers and remarkable adaptations to harsh environments, cacti and succulents never cease to amaze me. Over the years, I have dedicated myself to learning about their growth, propagation, flowering, and care, gaining practical experience that I enjoy sharing with others.
Passion Garden: A Place to Explore and Learn
Passion Garden is more than just a collection of plants. It is a space where my passion for cacti and succulents comes to life—a place to observe their diversity, appreciate their beauty, and learn about their fascinating characteristics.
I have showcased my plants at various flower shows organized by institutions including Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Phagwara, Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) in Amritsar, Khalsa College in Jalandhar, Science city near Jalandhar and Jalandhar Cantt Board flower show.
My plants have received awards at these events, making the experience even more rewarding.
My garden has also received recognition through newspaper features in The Tribune and Punjab Kesari, as well as video coverage by DD Punjabi, Punjab Grand TV, and The Better India.
Passion Garden has also attracted the interest of students and researchers. University students pursuing Ph.D. studies have visited the garden to observe and learn about cacti and succulents. I have also delivered guest lectures and conducted hands-on workshops at educational institutions, including Lovely Professional University (LPU), sharing my knowledge and practical experience with students and providing them with opportunities to learn more about growing and caring for these fascinating plants
